We are a mixed farm producing high-quality beef cattle, potatoes, combinable crops and forage maize, integrating livestock and arable enterprises to combine traditional farming values with modern, sustainable practices that enhance soil health and promote efficient land use.
Our combinable crops include wheat, barley and winter oilseed rape, grown in rotation with our potatoes, maize and herbal leys to support soil health and our livestock enterprises. These leys provide grazing for our Stabiliser suckler herd and contract Angus cross cattle.
We grow potatoes for both the chipping and crisping markets. Harvest runs from July through to October, beginning with our chipping varieties, which are delivered directly from the field to factories for immediate processing. Our crisping varieties are lifted later in the season and carefully stored. The following year, they are washed and prepared before being supplied for crisp production.
We breed Stabiliser suckler cattle and rear Angus cross cattle to finishing weight for Pathway Farming, supplying high-quality beef directly to supermarkets.
Our maize is supplied to a local anaerobic digestion plant, contributing to the production of renewable electricity for the national grid and supporting sustainable energy generation.
A proportion of the wheat and barley we grow is also used to supplement our grass-fed cattle.
